How to Protect Your Gaming Account and Phone

1. Passwords

• Use a different password for your gaming account, email and banking.
• Make it long: a phrase of three or four unrelated words is easier to remember and harder to guess.
• Use the password manager built into your phone or browser. It will not auto-fill on a fake website, which helps you spot phishing.
• Never save passwords in notes, screenshots or chat messages.

2. One-time PINs (OTP)

An OTP is the final lock on your account and your bank. No genuine support team, bank or agent will ever ask you for it. If someone asks for an OTP, the conversation is a scam, no matter how convincing it seems.

3. Phone settings

• Turn on a screen lock with a PIN and fingerprint or face unlock.
• Keep your operating system and apps updated.
• Keep Google Play Protect switched on (Android).
• Turn off "install unknown apps" for your browser after installing anything outside the app store.
• Hide SMS previews on the lock screen so OTPs are not visible to others.

4. App permissions

Review permissions regularly in your phone settings. A gaming app has no reason to read your SMS messages, access your contacts, or use accessibility services that can control the screen. These permissions are commonly abused by malicious APK files. See our safe APK installation steps.

5. Public Wi-Fi

Avoid logging in to money-related accounts on public or shared Wi-Fi networks. Mobile data is usually a safer choice when you are out.

6. If you think your account is compromised

1. Change your password

   Start with your email, then your gaming account and banking.

2. Contact support

   Use the official site to report unusual activity and ask for the account to be secured.

3. Call your bank

   If banking details may be exposed, your bank can block transactions.

4. Remove suspicious apps

   Uninstall anything you do not recognise, then run a security scan.
